How to customize First/Last Name subfields on your 123FormBuilder form?

To add and customize additional subfields to theĀ First/Last name field, you will have to simply select the field, go to Options in the left side panel. UnderĀ Additional subfields, you can add a small dropdown list for initial and middle name.

Important notes

If you want to add a Title to the First/Last name field, you can do that by enabling Use Title before name option.

Once enabled, you are presented with some predefined options of title that can be easily edited – either edit the text or add more title options.

In Submissions table, a new column will appear for each subfield when any of this these options is enabled.

Placeholder text

By default, the placeholder text that appears in First/Last name field is First and Last. These two options will be shown by default to respondents within the First/Last name field in order for them to understand where and how to provide input.

These two values can be changed with anything that fits your use case.

For example, we’ve changed the placeholder text to Test 1 and Test 2. These two texts will be shown to respondents and once they click within the input text box, the placeholder texts disappear. If your respondents do not provide their name, these placeholder texts won’t be send to the Submissions table, as they are only a visual aid for respondents and do not represent an actual value.

    1. Hello Nancy! to change any system message please go to Settings – Translations and click customize/edit your current language. Use the search bar to find the word that needs to be translated. Have a great day!

Is this service free?
Yes, we offer a free form builder service. Just sign up to the Basic plan and you are all set. This plan is forever free, but you are limited with a few features only, such as 5 forms per account, 100 submissions per month and you have to keep the backlink to 123FormBuilder on your forms. How many forms can I create?
It depends on the service plan you are on. Higher service plans enable more features, including more web forms for your account. If you need more forms, go to the My Account section of your account and click the upgrade button. To create an unlimited number of forms, either upgrade to the Platinum service plan or higher. Consult our features matrix for more information.
How can I publish my forms?
You can publish your forms in many ways, by using their direct URL or HTML link, embedding them with a JavaScript code, Inline HTML or iFrame, using the Facebook app or the WordPress plugin, using popups, the Blogger code snippet and many more. Once you have created and customized your form, go to the Publish section to complete your work. Read more in our documentation.
How do I change my form design?
You can change the design of your form for more information. in the Themes section, which is located in your form settings. We offer a set of more than 30 predefined form themes for your forms, but you can also create your own from scratch. You can customize the submit button, the logo and more. To apply your own stylesheets, all forms come with a custom CSS editor.
