It has been some time since my last post was published regarding payment forms, but now I am back with a new comprehensive guide for you to benefit from. If you were following the series until now, you’ve learned how to use the 123FormBuilder form builder to add items to your order form, assign prices to your items, use different payment options and create donation forms. In this article I am happy to share with you the steps on creating a coupon system without needing to type a single line of code.
So let’s get started, shall we?
Assuming you have already created your online order form, based on the tutorials from my previous articles, we will head directly to the Settings section and hit the Payments tab.
Remember that you do not need to add any additional field to your form that will represent the coupon code box, and you will see why.
1. Scroll down until the bottom side of the section and click the Coupon Codes button.
2. Click the button Add new coupon code.
3. A new coupon code will show below. If you want to change the code to something meaningful like “BAZINGA”, just click the box where the code is displayed and type inside whatever you want.
You can create coupons that reduce the original price by percentage (%) or by a certain amount ($). First, type in a value and use the drop down to select the type of discount. Finally, give your coupon a name by typing in the box on the far right.
4. Once you have got to this point, tick the checkbox on the left side of the coupon and click Assign selected coupons to this form. Once you press the Save button, an input box will appear on the form above the submit button, where your customers can enter their coupon code upon payment.
You can create as many coupon codes as you like by repeating the steps above. It’s quite simple and you only need to press the Save button to activate the coupon codes on your order form.
To remove any of the active coupon codes, use the “–” button on the right. If you want to delete a coupon code entirely from your list, click the x button.
Besides coupon codes, you can apply discounts directly on your items, depending on how you’ve created your payment summary. You can even apply a discount on the total amount. It’s that easy. And yes, discounts are accumulated.
Are you preparing a promotional campaign for your products? Don’t forget to send coupon codes to your most loyal customers. It will increase sales, for sure.
